A good boxing workout, a boxing workout where you really go through the gears, needs to start with a good warm up. This is true regardless of whether you are a beginner or a seasoned operator. Start you boxing workout with a warm up like the one that I demonstrate in this video and you’ll do just fine.
Before you start your boxing workout, you need to get your heart rate up, you need to get the blood flowing to the muscles. This will help you get the most out of your boxing workout, but more than that it will significantly reduce the risk of you picking up an injury.
Don’t make the mistake of seeing shadow boxing as part of your boxing workout warmup. Shadow boxing is a specific part of your boxing workout, it’s not a warm up activity. Check out this video for more information on how to build a good shadow boxing workout.

Thanks Fran,
Looks like a great little warmup. I’ll try it this week!
No worries Lynda…hope you enjoy the workout👍
More great information. I sometimes jump in too quick and wonder why I am not just more sore but sometimes get a small injury as well. A decent warmup does wonders to help prevent both soreness and injury.
Easily done James, glad you like the work👍
