Boxing training drills don’t need to be complicated to be effective. Some of the most basic boxing training drills can bring great rewards, and this one is a perfect demonstration of that – combining ducks with movement…what could be simpler 🙂
The duck is the most simple body movement that we do. Bending the knees, keeping the back straight. Really straightforward. When you combine the duck with some simple boxing footwork, it can be deceptively challenging.
The biggest challenge is to avoid over-balancing forward. Key point – always keep your nose behind the line of your front knee.

Hey Fran, What’s a dook!? LOL!
Almost a language barrier that Pug😂
Thanks Fran, my training has been lacking simple repetitive drill lately. This one I found deceptively challenging. Quads dying after a couple of rounds, and slightly off balance when ducking and stepping left and back again for some reason – things for me to work on. I’ve realised that whenever I get a bit disenchanted with progress, I just simplify stuff, back to simple drills, and I’m into it again. This stuff really works.

That’s a demonstration of determination to get this stuff right Richard. Always be willing to strip back to basics. That’s why I think kettle-time boxing helps so much. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast 👍
