What are the steps to developing a killer body punching boxing style? How can you maximise the effectiveness of your body assaults?
Truth is, some fighters may have good punch resistance when it comes to taking head shots. However, a well placed body punch can break an opponent, either pretty instantly or over time by draining their endurance.
In this body punching masterclass we answer the following questions:
- What are the perfect locations to land your body punches?
- How do you target your body punching at long range?
- How do you target the body punching at mid and close range?
- How do you set up your body punches by going for the head?
- How do you create diversions to land your body punches.
Body punching in boxing is both an art and a science. Do it well and it will always give you options.
Cheers

😀 Liking your work Lorne! Thjanks for watching, glad it helps you on your mission.
That’s a realy impressive gym set-up you have there. I just was wondering if you had any pull-up bars in it. And if chin-ups or pull-ups are good exercises for boxers to do. Cheers
Hello Bernard. Thanks for your comment. Yes, we have chin up bars. We do chin ups, building it in with wider strength and conditioning activities.
Nice video Fran. Regarding jabbing to the body, I do see some coaches recommend moving your rear hand across your face to cover your chin when jabbing to the body so as to protect against an oncoming backhand punch. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
Hello Tommy. Yes, I often coach that method when jabbing to the head too – https://www.myboxingcoach.com/7-ways-to-successful-jab/
Thanks Fran. Yes, that all makes sense.
