The pivot is one of the most versatile skills that a boxer uses. These guided boxing drills are built around use of the pivot. These drills start simple and actually develop into some quite challenging sequences of boxing.
Always remember that the pivot can be used as both an offensive and defensive skill. These boxing drills are executed from a static position.
The boxing drills are 3 rounds of 2 minutes each round:
Round 1
Pivot left and pivot right
Round 2
Jab – pivot with the lead hand hook (1)
Jab – pivot right – long back hand hook (2)
Round 3
Pivot left with lead hand uppercut – back hand hook (1)
Pivot right – 2 lead hand hooks
Take your time with these boxing drills. Each boxing skill must be executed well. Any errors in one skill will carry forward into the next skill, so be disciplined. Otherwise, get on and work your pivot based boxing drills.

Another great video explaining the pivot, I am going to also put the tape down to keep control of my movements as explained, it really matters how you hold your feet and legs when you move to keep your balance and be ready to punch or counter. Thank you again Fran
Best regards
