When it comes to the end of your boxing training session, how should you ‘put the icing on the cake’? For me there is only one answer – the warm down. Completing a warm down at the end of your boxing training session brings such huge benefits it’s something you should never overlook.
This is a follow up on a previous boxing training video that covered how to do your warm up.
There are a number of ways to complete a warm down at the end of your boxing training session. Some people will do a steady jumping rope session, others will work through a slow and steady shadow boxing session or light touch co-ordination plyometrics. For me though, working through static stretches is a great way to go.
Static stretches will improve your flexibility. Improved flexibility means reduced risk of injury. Improved flexibility means enhanced range of movement and that leads to enhanced punching power. This stuff is something that over time will deliver great results, plus you get 5-10 minutes to reflect on your boxing training session, appreciating the stuff you have down well and identifying what you are going to do better next time.
Cheers
