Three simple boxing drills to work on 3 Mike Tyson skills…and this is all about footwork, something that many people overlook when it comes to Mike Tyson (alongside his defensive skills that is!)
This video provides 3 boxing drills, one focused on a long range footwork skill and the other two focused on being at close range.
The boxing drills are executed over 3 rounds of 2 minutes each round, but of course you can work them over any round configuration that you like.
In round 1 we use the angled side step boxing drill. This enables you to push off the centre line at an angle so that you keep the opponent in the strike zone. This is one of the boxing drills that is used to develop a long range skill.
In round 2 we work the stance switch boxing drill. This is about switching position to allow you to attack the centre line with hooks. This is the first of your boxing drills that offers close range skills.
In round 3 we work the square stance switch. This is about power generation and should only ever be used at close range.
3 simple boxing drills to help you with 3 Mike Tyson style skills.
Cheers
