Welcome to the 2nd video in our series of videos covering a week in the life of a boxing coach at am amateur boxing club. My aim is to post as many videos as possible throughout a full amateur boxing season.
In this video we complete a walk around of the boxing club. It still looks a hell of a lot like a building site, but we are making progress and the bottom line is we have to have the doors open…we have been closed for too long.
And what can I say, from here on in things can only improve!
Any questions or observations, let me have them in the comments section.
Cheers
Fran

Fran,
Do you own the building or rent it? If you rent it, is it privately owned or owned by the local authority? Can I ask how much the rental is and what the square foot area is?
How much do you charge your boxers to train? Is it on a pay per visit basis or is on a subscription basis?
Sorry to appear to pry, but I’m just interested.
Will the parents viewing area have a screen/window to it or will it be open?
Thanks.
Great video Fran.
You’re clearly very passionate about providing a great facility for your boxers – keep up the excellent work!
Happy 50th too………….
Thanks for these insightful webisodes Fran. Really helps us members & subscribers get a good look at your club and how it is run! I used to box at amateur club here in Canada when I was a younger man haha Everything you are showing and talking about seems very familiar! It’s great you are making a positive impact in these young people’s lives…from the description of the destitute and impoverished area you are in, it sounds like they could use a helping hand. Keep up the great work brother!
Great video. Happy birthday Fran. Are you going to have any speedbags in the new gym?
Thanks Tommy. Not sure yet…very noisy 🙂
Hi Fran. Lots of challenges ahead; but, such a worthy cause. Wish you all the best – hoping all goes smoothly. And happy 50th – a good excuse to take a bit of a break and party a little (we all need some of that from time to time).
Thanks Ross, I appreciate your support. Will definitely give that party thing a go 😉
Great insight Fran, don’t lose heart, I was a contracts manager for a contractor for a while, and there’s always unforeseen issues. The end result will be worth it. By the way, I just picked up one of those Ergo peanut bags based on the fact that you use them – great bit of kit. And happy birthday for next week, welcome to the over 50s club! 👍🏻
Thanks for the encouragement Richard, it helps. Good luck with the Ergo bag (top quality kit). And yes, over 50’s club here I come. I’m hoping that I will wake up distinguished…we’ll see!
