Welcome to the first in my series of videos covering a week in the life of a boxing coach at am amateur boxing club. My aim is to post as many videos as possible throughout a full amateur boxing season.
Who knows what we’ll cover, it all depends on what the season brings!
In this first video I give you a little bit of history on our boxing club and the things that we have to do to get the place up and running. This includes club registration, coach registration and boxer registration.
Also, this is the first week that we have had the boxers back, so we need to think about some core fitness building with the boxers.
Any questions, let me have them in the comments section.

Thanks Fran , nice to hear about this and thanks for sharing. Good to see your enthusiasm shining through as always. I will follow the series
Ah thanks Andrew, really kind of you mate👍
Hej, Fran!
Very interesting! I like the social side of your work! Keep it up!
Best wishes
Magnus
Thank you Magnus, I appreciate your feedback 👍
I really enjoyed that Fran, a great insight for me. Also a bit frustrating that I didn’t get into the sport in my youth! After lone wolfing in my garage for the past year, I’ve been looking at gyms in my area to join. Other than the one I described in a recent group Facebook post, in which no skills were taught yet there was mass sparring at the end of the session, I’m finding it hard to find a gym that meets my needs as someone in their 50’s. Unless you’re young enough to be carded, they only offer ‘box fit’ circuit type sessions. I’m at the point where I’d like regular structured sparring, pad work, feedback etc. to advance. Back to my garage for now I guess. Anyway, thanks again Fran, I look forward to the next instalment. 👍🏻
Lone wolf for now Richard, you’ll progress just fine and who knows…when you least expect if something that suits your needs might just pop up 👍. Thanks for watching pal.
Not completely alone coach – thanks for all you’re doing 👍🏻🥊
Thank you Richard 👍

Thanks Ross. Going to do my best to keep them regular (I’m sure there’ll be the occasional miss).
Great video and a great idea, Fran! Thanks for taking the time to share your life and passion with us.
Thanks Wayne👍
