5 Super Simple 3 Punch Boxing Combos

We are going to work 5 wonderfully simple 3 punch combos. That’s what I love about boxing, and often it’s what people get wrong. The best boxing is simple, elegant and clear. Let’s not over-complicate things.

Super Simple Boxing Combos!

Many people think of boxing combinations as lots and lots of punches. But, most of the time boxers tend to link together boxing combos of 2 or 3 punches.

It makes sense.

The boxing combos I cover in the video include prepared attacks, unprepared attacks, jabs, crosses, uppercuts and hooks…there’s something in there for everyone.

So, here’s the list of boxing combos:

  1. Jab – jab – lead hook
  2. Back hand – jab – back hand
  3. Jab – back hand – lay back – back hand
  4. Feint jab body – jab head – back hand – lead hook
  5. Feint jab – back hand uppercut – lead hook – back hand hook.

Simple works. Boxing combos can be simple and super-effective.

Cheers

Fran

    Great gear Fran.

The last minute cleared up a lot of misconceptions for me; 3 punches and defend/change height/change angle etc. So simple when you think about it!

    Thanks again, Jim.

PS More coach-a-long drills please! And could you do something on Tommy Hearns (and his power) for us gangly/rangy lot? Not sure if it comes later on myboxingcoach monthly or not?

Glad you liked that one Jim. Yes, just a bit more achieveable isn’t it rather than getting caught up with long sequences. More coach along stuff coming and yes, definitely got to do something on the Motor City Cobra – what a fighter and what an icon of our sport! Thanks Jim

Outstanding Fran! Regarding the Hitman, he’s a god in my eyes: that chopping right!!!

          And his jabs from hip.

            Deadly elegance Jim

Thanks again Fran for the great content. I always like the feint-uppercut-lefthook-uppercut combo, but think your idea on the last one is better. Better variety of punches, and good to mix it up with shots coming from different angles!

Yes Dan. Variations are always good. Always effective following up the uppercut with a hook (the head is lifted) and left hooks and right hooks are great bedfellows😀

You send me stuff I can’t receive any of it. When you ask for my email, it’s not excepted. WHY??
