Slipping and rolling can be used as the basis for some pretty fearsome boxing combinations. So you can work defense and attack into a total boxing style, avoiding punches and delivering clean and effective boxing combinations.
The key to the success of these particular boxing drills is the principle of ‘Trigger – Defend – Attack’. Each boxing combination is predicated on triggering the opponent into action using the jab.
Following our jab we predict a straight shot response and that is where the slip comes in.
After the slip (defense) we then attack with with our follow up boxing combinations.
So, the boxing combinations that we use in the video:
- Jab – slip out – back hand – jab – back Hand
- Jab – slip in – lead hand hook – back hand hook
- Jab – Slip in – Long lead hand uppercut – Back hand
We are seeing things pretty simple with these boxing combinations.
Just remember that sequence – Trigger, Defend, Attack
